Camilo Reyes, a driven and passionate individual from Bucaramanga, Colombia, is a 33-year-old mechanical engineer with experience as spacecraft controller for GEO telecommunications satellites. Before obtaining his bachelor’s degree, Camilo went on to further his education by participating in the International Space University’s Space Studies Program. This broadened his knowledge of the field and solidified his desire to work in the industry.

Camilo has honed his skills in cubesat and picosatellite development, making him a valuable asset to his current employer, MetaVisiobaries, a UK-based company that uses the metaverse for space education. As the Chief of Staff, he is responsible for ensuring that the company runs smoothly and efficiently, while also contributing to the development of new and innovative space education programs.

Camilo’s passion for space technology and human exploration runs deep. In 2017, he had the opportunity to participate in a Mars analogue simulation, which gave him a taste of what it would be like to work on the red planet. This experience further fueled his desire to become a civilian astronaut and he is now on a personal journey to achieve this goal. He is dedicated to obtaining the necessary training and education to make this dream a reality.
