IIAS currently supports two non-profit citizen-science initiatives, Project PoSSUM (‘Polar Suborbital Science in the Upper Mesosphere) and Project OTTER (Orbital Technologies and Tools of Extravehicular Research). PoSSUM studies and matures models of our mesosphere and technologies integral to suborbital spacecraft. OTTER studies human performance in Extravehicular Activity (EVA) operations and technologies integral to orbital spaceflight. IIAS students may concentrate studies in aeronomy, bioastronautics, science education, space flight operations, or flight test engineering.
The International Institute for Astronautical Sciences (IIAS) produces future scientists, engineers, operations professionals, and educators of the international space community by providing immersive educational experiences that produce peer-reviewed scientific publications, mature space technologies, and educate and inspire the next generation of space professionals.
Immersive Education and Citizen Science
An International, Multi-Cultural Community
